UI Design Best Practices for Developers
Achieve more with less. These are my thoughts about my journey learning to design better websites.
Fonts
You can’t create a good-looking UI if you’re using too many font sizes or different font families. A good rule of thumb is to keep it simple, stick to around 2 - 3 font sizes and ideally just one or two fonts (that’s kinda debatable).
Developing taste
This is an example about why text sizes and weights are important.
Developing taste is a process that takes time. It's not something that can be learned overnight, but it's a skill that can be developed with practice and studying a lot.
Spacing
Copywriting
Don’t use unnecessary words or labels that don’t make sense. Keep your text simple, clear, and informative. Avoid redundant labels. Small details make a big difference.
Colors
Now with AI this is a lot easier to notice as we can see a lot UI slop. Ai tends to use too many colors or few colors but they dont have harmony between them.

Every color should earn its place — not compete for attention.
